Bear One Another's Burdens
Galatians 6:1-2 “Brothers, if anyone is caught in any transgression, you who are spiritual should restore him in a spirit of gentleness. Keep watch on yourself, lest you too be tempted. Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.”
I specifically want to focus on verse two of Galatians chapter six where Paul instructs the church to bear one another’s burdens. We should be working together with one another to exhort one another, edify one another, gently correct one another, steer one another out of sin towards repentance, and share the heavy burdens weighing on our hearts. While we may think that other people have a lot going on, or are busy, or don’t want to hear about our burdens, we should realize that by not sharing our burdens with them, we are depriving them of an opportunity to serve the Lord. Other followers of the Lord may be yearning to help others, ready to pray, ready to cook a meal, ready to share a word of encouragement, ready to give someone a car ride, ready to cry with us and ready to serve. If we don’t share our burdens with one another, we are missing out on the blessing that that person could have on our lives. They too are missing out on the opportunity to share their God given gifts with us.
So let us make ourselves a little bit vulnerable to our brothers and sisters in Christ and share our burdens with one another. We are stronger together. We can do all things through Christ who strengthens us (Philippians 4:13).
