Do Not Fear
Deuteronomy 31:8 “It is the Lord who goes before you. He will be with you; He will not leave you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed.”
When Moses was handing the leadership over to Joshua, he advised him not to be afraid or distressed. The Lord was going to go before Joshua into the next steps of life and He would not leave him or forsake him.
Like a child who is afraid of the dark, they want their parent to go before them and turn on the lights. They want their parents to check for anything scary. When the parent has lit the room and confirmed there is nothing to fear, the child can rest easy knowing that the parent has taken care of it.
We too, must remember that in distressing or even scary situations, the Lord is there with us. We are not alone. He will go ahead of us and turn on the light in the dark places.
If you are worried that He is not with you, then pray to Him. Ask Him to be with you. Ask Him to never leave you and He won’t. Cast all your anxieties on Him for He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7) and He will provide a peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7).
