Cloth of Life
Psalm 119:73 “Your hands have made and fashioned me; give me understanding that I may learn Your commandments.”
O Lord, please take the cloth of my life and fashion it into the work of Your holy hands. For I have tried many a time to sew my life into the designs that I thought best, but I have only done in evil in my days without You. O Lord, have mercy on me and unpick the threads of sin that I have attached to myself. Free me from the seams of these evil passions and create a new pattern to my life. Take the pure thread of Your will and apply it to the cloth of my life. With Your free motion, sew my heart to Your commandments that I may not depart from them. May the fabric of my life not resist the work of Your divine power, but instead cooperate with Your will. Stitch the beautiful workings of Your grace across the cloth of my life as You see fit. For I am the work of Your creative hands and I will know no other God but You, O Lord. Arrange my life as You have planned. Let it not be according to my will, but Yours, O Lord.
