God's Plan Will Stand
Proverbs 19:21 “Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the Lord that will stand.”
Last week I was in a chapel and looked up at the dome where there was a mosaic of Christ above. In that dome was a spider’s web. I thought to myself that the spider would be unlikely to have much success in that dome, he would be better suited outside or somewhere else. Then I realized that we all are like the spiders in that dome with God looking on us. We are in and a part of the world He created. His eyes are over all of us. God is able to see our efforts, He knows our plans, and He watches us spin the web of our lives. We think we know best and what we ought to do.
Yet, it is God who knows exactly where we would do best in life. He knows if we should leave or we should go. He knows if we should speak or remain silent. He knows if we should build our home here or walk over there. In the planning and strategizing of our lives and careers, it can be tempting to leave God out of the decision making. But indeed God wants us to submit our lives to His will. We can spin all the webs and do what we think is best, but it is God’s plan and purpose that will stand the test of time.
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make straight your paths” Proverbs 3:5-6.
