Holy Communion
1 Corinthians 11:23-26 “For I received from the Lord what I also delivered to you, that the Lord Jesus on the night when He was betrayed took bread, and when He had given thanks, He broke it, and said, ‘This is my body which is for you. Do this in remembrance of Me.’ In the same way also the cup, after supper, saying, ‘This cup is the new covenant in my blood. Do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me.’ For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until He comes.”
As followers of the Lord, we should be proclaiming the sacrifice of our Lord Jesus until He comes again. The holy communion is meant to be just that. A proclamation of the sacrifice of the Lord Jesus to one another that His body was broken for us and His blood was shed for us.
Let us find out when our next communion is in our respective church. Let us prepare ourselves spiritually for it through prayer and repentance to the Lord Jesus so that we can approach the altar and do this in remembrance of our Savior. May His kingdom come and His will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
