Instruments of Righteousness
Romans 6:13 “Do not yield your members to sin as instruments of wickedness, but yield yourselves to God as men who have been brought from death to life, and your members to God as instruments of righteousness.”
If our bodies are temples for the Holy Spirit to dwell within, then we are not to yield our bodies as instruments of wickedness and grieve the heart of the Lord. Our lives, our bodies should be offerings to the Lord and His will. He has saved us from death and brought us into the newness of life. We owe Him everything if we do indeed place our hope in Him for our salvation. As such, our bodies should be instruments of righteousness. Here are some Scriptural references of how we can use our bodies to the glory of God:
Having a mind that is always prepared and sober (1 Peter 1:13). Eyes that watch and imitate other godly believers (Philippians 3:17). Mouths that build up others according to what they need (Ephesians 4:29). With a pure heart, love one another earnestly (1 Peter 1:22). Hands that share with others in need (Ephesians 4:28). Feet that will carry the Gospel of peace to others (Ephesians 6:15).
