Love Bears All Things
2 Corinthians 8:24 “So give proof before the churches of your love and of our boasting about you to these men.”
Give proof before the churches of your love. We are called to show love to one another. Let other followers of the Lord know our faith by how we love others. There could be other believers who have given testimony about our faith and our love for the Lord, so we must be ready at all times to mirror God’s love to other people. We could at times be entertaining angels unaware, so let us show a Christ-like love to all.
We should also remember that people who do not know the love of Jesus only know to love others who love them. They are only kind to those who are kind to them. They have likely not seen another example. Our lives should be that different example of how to be kind, compassionate, and loving even when receiving nothing in return. We should strive to have a love that looks upon others as the work of God’s hands made in His image. A love that is not lustful, or trying to exploit, or trying to manipulate, or trying to condemn, but a love that is patient and kind. A love that is not arrogant or rude. A love that is not irritable or resentful. A love that doesn’t rejoice in doing wrong, but in the truth.
“Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends” (1 Corinthians 13:7-8a).
