Pure and Undefiled
James 1:27 “Religion that is pure and undefiled before God the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world.”
When I think about the sacrifice of Jesus Christ for my sake and then compare that with what little I am offering Him, I wonder, “am I doing all that I could be?”
When I consider the humility of Christ and His compassion towards me and my sinfulness, I’m greatly moved. He who was pure, undefiled, holy, perfect, and divine, loved me first. So how can I live a life before Him that is pure and undefiled? How can I give more of my time to Him in prayer? How can I give more of my time to listen to someone hurting? How can I extend a helping hand to those who cannot return the favor? How can I strive to live a pure, undefiled, and unstained life before my heavenly Father?
He has done so much for me. What can I do for Him out of the gratitude and joy in my heart.
