Reminders to Pray
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 “Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.”
In yesterday’s post I wanted to emphasize one point and leave it simply with “pray without ceasing”. What a powerful command from the apostle; pray without stopping. Life has so many distractions to keep us focused on the past events, the present delights, and the future worries. We need to remember to refocus on the Lord with a prayer throughout the day.
What are some ways to be reminded to pray continuously whether aloud or quietly in our hearts? Much like how we have technological notifications everywhere, a frequent tech notification could be one way to be reminded to pray. If you are looking to detach from tech, perhaps something more tangible such as a Scripture in your home, in your pocket, in your wallet, could all be ways to visually trigger a reminder to pray. More ways could include things like prayer ropes. Everyone is different so I recommend trying a method that you find works best for you in your walk of faith and reminding yourself to keep praying to the Lord.
And when you pray to the Lord, give Him thanks. Rejoice in Him. Rejoice in the joy of the salvation He offers to us. In all situations, give Him thanks.
