Time to Pray
Mark 1:14-15 “Now after John was arrested, Jesus came into Galilee, proclaiming the gospel of God, and saying, ‘The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the gospel.’”
In one of my previous posts entitled A Holy Nation, I was considering whether or not I was living a life that was unstained from the world and prayerfully lifting up requests on behalf of other people. One thing that has come to my mind is if I can pray for everyone I meet. That cashier who assists me with groceries. That barista who made my coffee. That person I had a Zoom call with at work. That coworker who wants nothing to do with God. The person sitting nearby in church. That stranger who is having a rough day.
Christ has told us that the kingdom of God is at hand and to repent and believe in the Gospel. The time is now for us all to repent of our sins. Many people we encounter may not know the Lord or believe in Him. In a perfect world, the evangelism door will open to share the hope that is in us with everyone, but often that doesn’t happen. So in that brief meeting with someone, can we show some kindness and lift up a prayer on their behalf afterwards? Praying for God’s mercy, praying for repentance, praying for their salvation by God’s grace.
The kingdom of God is at hand. It is time to pray and it is time to share the Gospel.
